Jun 13, 2023 · Haiti’s government is stepping up efforts to remove hundreds of children from orphanages across the country and reunite them with their parents or relatives.

AGCI has found forever families for more than 70 children in Haiti! We often have up-to-date photos, videos, detailed information and medical reports on children available for adoption. Married couples with one parent who is at least 30 years old and single women 35 and older are eligible to adopt.

Haiti has an estimated 1.2 million orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). About 7,000 children roam the streets of Port-au-Prince. Thousands more can be found across the island in cities such as Cap Haitien, St. Marc, and Gonaives.

Located in Cavaillon, a quaint town in the southern part of Haiti, lies a sanctuary for young girls seeking refuge – an orphanage run by the dedicated Sisters of Charity of Saint-Hyacinthe. This haven is currently home to about 25 girls, their ages ranging from as young as 4 to about 12.

Our mission is to provide a safe and loving home for orphaned children in Haiti, while also empowering them with education and opportunities to reach their full potential. We aim to make a lasting impact on their lives, and to create a brighter future for the communities in which they live.

Haiti Orphan Foundation exists to glorify God by ministering to the vulnerable and orphaned children of Haiti. It is estimated there are between 143 million and 210 million orphans worldwide and when considering children that live as orphans because their parents cannot afford to care for them, this astounding number skyrockets even higher.

So many children in Haiti are homeless. In 2007, UNICEF estimated there were 380,000 orphans in the country, which had a population of just over 9 million at the time. Since the January 2010 earthquake, the number of orphans skyrocketed, but official numbers are hard to find.
