Nobody was catching Scottie Scheffler this week. He more than made sure of that.

Scottie Sheffler tied a PGA Tour record to claim his first victory of 2025 with a blistering win at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, on Sunday.

Scheffler on Sunday shot a 8-under 63 to join W.T. White High’s Scott Verplank (2007) as the only local high school products to win the tournament since it became eponymous with golf icon Byron Nelson in 1968. Scheffler also became the Nelson’s third wire-to-wire winner, joining Mark Hayes (1976) and Tom Watson (1980).
