Radioactive shrimp. That’s not a typo. That’s not clickbait. That’s what’s going down at Walmart right now. The retail giant has issued a multi-state recall for several lots of its Great Value frozen shrimp after the FDA flagged potential contamination with Cesium-137 — a radioactive byproduct most commonly associated with nuclear reactors and atomic bombs.

The Food and Drug Administration issued an alert earlier this week about shrimp sold at Walmart over concerns that it could be radioactive. And now more shrimp are being added to the list.

Southwind Foods said it is "voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of frozen shrimp" due to the possible contamination with Cesium-137, a radioactive isotope.
