Israeli forces have killed 59 Palestinians across Gaza, at least 17 of whom were trying to get food at aid sites operated by the controversial United States and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF),

Witnesses say the gunmen shot at them while organising queues for food near a site run by an Israeli- and US-backed group.

The Israeli military said its forces fired warning shots toward suspects who were advancing while posing a threat to the troops.
