Activision has announced that the original map for Call of Duty: Warzone, Verdansk, will be making a comeback as part of the game’s fifth anniversary celebrations in April 2025.

DMZ was one of the most fun game modes in Modern Warfare 2 that has been missing since the release of Modern Warfare 3 in 2023. However, if leaks are to be believed, DMZ 2.0 might be paving the way for the mode’s return in the 2026 iteration of Call of Duty.

Prepare to dive back into the original Warzone map, but will it be the same without the gameplay and graphics that made it so great?

Activision has confirmed the release date for the return of original Verdansk map to Call of Duty: Warzone. Verdansk returns to the battle royale on April 3 alongside Season 3, Activision said alongside the following tease: “Get ready for the drop zones and familiar terrain that players loved, alongside new updates to explore.”
