A 9-year-old boy has been released from the hospital after he was briefly buried by collapsing sand last week at Silver Lake State Park in Oceana County, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources said.

A 9-year-old Livingston County boy was rescued after being buried in about five feet of collapsing sand at the Silver Lake State Park dunes.

A 9-year-old boy was buried and nearly killed by a collapsing sand dune in Michigan, but was saved by bystanders and DNR officers' CPR efforts. He is now recovering at home.
