A Norfolk Southern train traveling through the Fort Valley area was derailed Saturday during a flash flood, officials say.

Byron Police Chief Wesley Cannon said that he first learned about the derailment around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, but he could not confirm the time of the accident.
