Andy Byron, the startup executive at the center of an extraordinary social media furor, has resigned as CEO of data operations startup Astronomer.

"The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name,” said cofounder Pete DeJoy.

Astronomer’s interim CEO addressed the controversy surrounding the company when the former CEO was caught cuddling with the company’s head of HR at a Coldplay concert last week.
