South Sudan, a nation affected by conflict, has experienced multiple air disasters in recent years. In September 2018, a small plane traveling from the capital, Juba, to Yirol crashed, resulting in at least 19 fatalities.

South Sudanese authorities say 20 people were killed when a small plane chartered by a Chinese oil company crashed in a remote part of South Sudan.

South Sudan authorities are investigating the cause of Wednesday’s plane crash at the country’s Unity oilfield, that claimed the lives of 20 passengers and crew, with one survivor.
