Scott O’Neil was formally introduced Wednesday as the new CEO of Saudi-funded LIV Golf, which enters its fourth season next month while its financial backer is negotiating an investment deal with the rival PGA Tour.

Australian Greg Norman has been replaced as chief executive of LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed league announced on Wednesday.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Scott O’Neil was formally introduced Wednesday as the new CEO of Saudi-funded LIV Golf, which enters its fourth season next month while its financial backer is negotiating an investment deal with the rival PGA Tour.

LIV Golf announced Scott O'Neil as its new Chief Executive Officer on Wednesday, replacing Greg Norman, who will remain involved with LIV Golf.

Scott O'Neil will replace Norman, and the new CEO told SI that he’s texted with PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and looks forward to future discussions with the Tour.

LIV Golf has announced Scott O'Neil as their new CEO. O'Neil, a former CEO of Merlin Entertainments, has replaced Greg Norman as LIV's boss. Two-time Open winner Norman became LIV's first CEO and commissioner ahead of their inaugural season in 2022 and has been the face of the Saudi-funded league ever since.

LIV Golf on Wednesday officially introduced veteran sports executive Scott O'Neil as its chief executive officer, replacing golf legend Greg Norman on the tour's masthead. O'Neil takes the role as the long-expected joint venture between the Saudi Arabian-backed golf outfit,
