Days after an atmospheric river brought record-setting rainfall to California, the state is in the crosshairs of another rainy storm system.

An atmospheric river is slamming portions of California, with multiple inches of rain expected to drench the area until the storm runs out of moisture Wednesday morning, forecasters say.

Parts of northern California could see up to a foot of rain, but Phoenix will remain dry and warmer than usual.
