The report of buyout offers is in line with a massive makeover of the U.S. government embarked on by the Trump administration, which has fired and sidelined hundreds of civil servants in first steps toward downsizing the bureaucracy and installing more loyalists.

The Central Intelligence Agency on Tuesday offered all employees buyouts that were previously extended to millions of federal workers, according to a report. The buyouts would provide CIA employees with about eight months of pay and benefits in exchange for their resignations.
