The Dallas Mavericks opened a five-game Eastern Conference road trip with a Wednesday night game against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center.

The Dallas Mavericks narrowly emerged victorious on Wednesday, earning a 137-136 win against the New Orleans Pelicans. Kyrie Irving and PJ Washington led the way for Dallas, while Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy III helped the Pelicans keep the game competitive.

During this time, Pelicans guard C.J. McCollum took advantage of a missed floater by Irving and led a transition opportunity to find Trey Murphy III for a windmill alley-oop. Less than 10 seconds later, McCollum remixed the play and threw another lob to Murphy to give the Pelicans a six-point lead going into the half.
