Union County Public Schools says it’s among districts affected by a breach in the state’s student information system, which resulted in unauthorized access to student and teacher data.

Most North Carolina school districts use PowerSchool, including Union County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, and Gaston County.

An investigation is underway after a PowerSchool data breach that could have taken some personal information from customers, like the Pleasant Ridge Union School District. The Grass Valley school district recently told families about a cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool,
