One of the finalists for the head coaching job in New York, Borrego was rumored to be a prime target for the Knicks as they seek an associate head coach under new head coach Mike Brown.
Borrego, 47, is a client of CAA, the agency with close ties to Knicks front office leaders Leon Rose and William Wesley.
