King Frederik X of Denmark tweaked his country’s royal coat of arms to enlarge symbols of Greenland and the Faroe

Greenland's leader will meet the Danish king in Copenhagen on Wednesday, after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said he wanted to take control of the Arctic island, an autonomous territory of Denmark.

Denmark’s royal household said the new insignia “strengthens the prominence” of the Commonwealth, including Greenland, as Donald Trump again proposes buying the island.

Donald Trump Jr. arrived in Greenland as the president-elect seeks control of the territory from Denmark, whose King Frederik changed the royal coat of arms.

King Frederik appeared to send a coded warning to Donald Trump over the territory, which the incoming president wants to buy.

The Danish king has changed the country’s royal coat of arms to display symbols of Greenland and the Faroe Islands more prominently – in an apparent rebuke to Donald Trump. King Frederik has made a clear show of his intention to retain the territory within the kingdom of Denmark – and so continue to control its foreign and security policy – after US president-elect Donald Trump expressed his desire to buy Greenland for the US.

The art of making this deal just got a bit harder. King Frederik of Denmark has changed the royal coat of arms to emphasize a symbol of Greenland, in a perceived rebuke to Donald Trump who has said he wants to buy the Danish-owned territory.
