Strange New Worlds, the vast majority of episodes are pretty self-contained. That said, the two previous seasons each had some interconnected character arcs, and generally, a big season finale teased by previous events.

After last week's incredibly fun holodeck murder mystery, "Through the Lens of Time" gets back to Star Trek basics as the crew of the Starship Enterprise explore a strange and fascinating new alien world.
