Four of the Orioles’ top 10 prospects, including Samuel Basallo and Enrique Bradfield Jr., will be nonroster invitees to spring training.

Alcántara could be this spring’s Albert Suárez, a non-roster invitee last spring who ended up playing a key role on the injury-ridden Orioles pitching staff. Alcántara made a dozen major league appearances in 2016 and 2017 but, like Suárez, pitched in South Korea and Japan.

The Baltimore Orioles announced on Thursday that catching prospect Samuel Basallo will be a non-roster invite at major-league spring training this year. Per MLB Pipeline, Basallo is the No. 13 prospect in all of baseball for the 2025 season.

The Orioles position player pipeline has slowed after a slew of graduations and trades, but Basallo is one of a handful of elite talents.
