Nolan Gorman hit a three-run homer, Willson Contreras added a solo shot in the ninth inning and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-5 on Saturday to snap a six-game losing streak. Civale is the second veteran right-handed pitcher to join the Sox in recent weeks. The club signed Adrian Houser, who is scheduled to start Friday’s series opener against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field, to a one-year deal on May 20.

Aaron Civale joined the White Sox on Saturday, giving the righthander a day to get to know his new Chicago teammates before starting for them after being traded from the Brewers. That’s more time than he had last July when he got traded from Tampa Bay to Milwaukee.
