Tottenham Hotspur has secured a major coup in the transfer market, with Bayern Munich giving the final green light for the loan signing of Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha.

Tottenham are set to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The Portuguese defensive midfielder is set to undergo his medical with the North London club on Friday before joining up with new boss Thomas Frank on the club’s tour of Southeast Asia.

The Portugal international could become Tottenham’s fifth new arrival of the summer. Mohammed Kudus joined Spurs from West Ham United earlier in July in a deal worth £55million ($74.7m), alongside defenders Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai from Hajduk Split and Kawasaki respectively, while Tel joined permanently from Bayern.
