Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan plans to call US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin this week. He intends to propose holding a meeting on Ukraine in Istanbul, Hurriyet reports.

Ukraine is working to secure funding for 10 Patriot air defense batteries, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, following a deal that allows country's European allies to purchase US military equipment and provide it to Kyiv.

Russia and Ukraine discussed further prisoner swaps on Wednesday at a brief session of peace talks in Istanbul, but the sides remained far apart on ceasefire terms and a possible meeting of their leaders.

The US Department of State supports a complete and unconditional ceasefire, including an end to all strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure, states the State Department’s Deputy Press Secretary Tommy Pigott.
