Ford Motor Company is doubling down on electric vehicles. This week, the company announced that it will launch a new affordable EV, a four-door pickup. The new vehicle will have passenger space similar to a Toyota RAV4 and will feature both a truck bed and a front trunk (“frunk”).

Ford has officially opened its new Long Beach campus — a new 250,000 square-foot site, dubbed the Electric Vehicle Development Center, which will serve as the company’s main design and innovation hub in Southern California.

The American automaker announced a $5 billion investment into its EV plants, a new electric vehicle platform and an affordable electric truck arriving in 2027.
