Tampa Free Press on MSNWhite House Cracks Down On ‘Woke AI’ In Federal ProcurementSeeking" and "Ideological Neutrality" for Government AI Models President Trump issued an executive order this week establishing new guidelines for the procurement of artificial intelligence (AI) models by federal agencies.
President Donald Trump says that "woke AI" is a pressing threat to truth and independent thought. Critics say his plan to combat so-called woke AI represents a threat to freedom of speech and potentially violates the First Amendment.
The order would be one of several expected to be released outlining the president’s vision for winning the AI race with China.

White House bans 'woke' AI, but LLMs don't know the truthThey can only enforce consistency based on their training The White House on Wednesday issued an executive order requiring AI models used by the government to be truthful and ideologically neutral.… It's doubtful any AI model currently available can meet those requirements.
The suppression or distortion of factual information about race or sex; manipulation of racial or sexual representation in model outputs; incorporation of concepts like critical race theory, transgenderism, unconscious bias, intersectionality, and systemic racism; and discrimination on the basis of race or sex.
Take, for instance, the White House’s new “AI Action Plan,” which Trump has begun rolling out this week, including in a speech at an AI Summit where he encouraged U.S. copyright holders to pretty much give up on their dreams of actually getting paid when AI tech folk train their large language models on copyrighted works.
The order calls out diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), calling it a “pervasive and destructive” ideology that can “distort the quality and accuracy of the output.”
The Trump administration is reportedly drafting an executive order requiring political neutrality in AI models used by federal contractors, aiming to curb perceived liberal bias in tools like chatbots and image generators.
